In order to ensure the access of education and increase the literacy rate, the School Education and Literacy Department (SE&LD), Government of Sindh has established the Directorate of Literacy & Non-Formal Education in 2002. The main purpose of the Directorate is: to collaborate with other stakeholders, design and implement the innovative interventions to address the critical issue of illiteracy due to out of school children and adult illiterates. Specially designed accelerated and integrated courses by Directorate LNFE SINDH contribute in improving low literacy rate of the province.
